CONVALESCENT HOME TREATMENT
The arrangements for providing convalescence facilities for persons who have been ill but whose
active period of treatment is over, continued throughout the year.
In all cases a recommendation of a doctor is required and great care is exercised in the selection
of adult patients to ensure the need is a recuperative period after a debilitating illness or accident, for in
many instances recommendations are received for persons who merely desire a holiday away from home and
the environment of East Ham.
The following graph shews the trend of the service since 1952.
1960 1961
No. of recommendations received 220 232
No. of patients admitted to homes 151 168
