For the period 1st January 1958 to 31st March 1959 all home nursing services were provided by voluntary organisations acting
as agents of the Council in accordance with agreements made under Section 25 of the Act.
From the 1st April 1959 the staff employed by the East Ham District Nursing Association were transferred to the Health Department
of the Authority and the administration of the service functioned from the Town Hall Annexe, in respect of the area of East Ham, North
of the Royal Docks.
The Woolwich & Plumstead District Nursing Association continued to provide for cases occurring in the small area of East Ham,
South of the Docks
