I would appeal to all mothers to open their doors more readily to the Health Visitor
who in the realms of family welfare and infant nurture, has much of inestimable value
to impart.

The above work is done for the Council by two voluntary District Nursing Associations; -
The East Ham District Nursing Association which deals with that area
of East Ham North of the Royal Docks and
The Woolwich and Plumstead District Nursing Association which provides
for cases occuring in the small area of East Ham South of the Docks.
As indicated earlier in the report the Silvertown and North Woolwich District Nursing
Association ceased to function in this area and by arrangement the nurses of the Woolwich
and Plumstead District Nursing Association overed the area from the 1st November, 1955.
We are indebted to the Silvertown nurses for the fine work they have done over the years,
often under considerable difficulty and always with kindness efficiency and humanity.
