Facilities available to Epileptics and Spastics
Handicrafts An Occupational Centre is established for all classes of
handicapped persons. Assistance is given in disposing of saleable goods.
A mid-day meal is provided at low cost and transport is available where
necessary.
Recreational Regular evening socials or concerts are held, together with
occasional outings. Holidays in the Council's Hostels for the Aged are
arranged when vacancies exist.
Employment Interviews arranged with Disablement Resettlement Officer for
placement in industry, training etc., under Education Act, 1944 etc.
Accommodation Assistance in obtaining Part. III Accommodation, Epileptic
Colonies etc. Liaison with British Epileptic Association.
General Visitation by Welfare Officers - personal problems, instruction
in handicrafts - liaison with voluntary organisations and voluntary workers.

SECTION 22 - CARE OF MOTHERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN
DENTAL CARE.
Dr. Allan Ross, the Senior Dental Officer, submits the following
reports on the dental treatment provided for expectant and nursing mothers
and pre-school children in 1953 and 1954

"It was yet another difficult year, but ended on a more optimistic
note. The statistics are similar to those for the previous year.
