With the inception of the Loan Cupboard Scheme, bedding for the use of
tuberculous patients is now loaned from these cupboards, and the provision
of assistance towards the purchase of necessary bedding has ceased.
During the year 1951, the part-time occupational therapist employed by
the Council carried out the following sessions:-
(a) At the Chest Clinic 102
(b) At the homes of patients 53
No„ of attendances at Clinic sessions 1,084
" " " patients' homes 362
It was found during the year that the time alloted for visits to the
homes of patients needing occupational therapy - One session per week
was insufficient and from November 1951 an additional session per fortnight
was allowed for this work to give extra instructional time to each patient.
From April 1952, two sessions per week were devoted to home visits in
addition to the two sessions per week in the Chest Clinic,,
