SECTION 25- HOME NURSING.
The demands on this service from the general practitioners steadily
increase and reference to the statistical table (page 48 ) indicates a 25%
rise in the number of new cases undertaken and a corresponding increase in
the number of visits.
Hospital policy and social trends would point to the necessity for a
number of persons with tuberculosis and chronic illness to be treated and
nursed in their homes. This is especially so for old people, and this
shift of locus for treatment and nursing of a skilled nature brings new
problems to the Council and may involve extension of the Home Nursing
Service and its closer administration and supervision by the Health Depart-
