OPHTHALMIC CLINIC.
The need for an orthoptic clinic to deal with the large number
of squint cases which cannot, be treated at the recognised eye hospitals,
has become abundantly manifest. The waiting list for appointments is so
long that many children cannot hope to begin treatment for over a year.
The Regional. Hospital Board have bs&n approached and it is
expected that agreement will be reached to enable us to hold an orthoptic
clinic at the Annexe.
The Clinic is at present organised in accordance with the
interim arrangements outlined in Circular 179/48.
