DENTAL INSPECTION AND TREATMENT.
Miss H. T. Smith, L.D.S., R.C.S., has submitted the following
report on the Dental Service:—
To the School Medical Officer,
County Borough of East Ham,
Education Committee.
Sir,
I have the honour to present my report on the work done in the
Dental Clinics during the year 1946. This past year has seen great
developments in the dental service. For the first time in the history
of the Borough a Senior Dental Officer has been appointed. This has
greatly increased efficiency, and the three dental clinics are now
working very smoothly together to form a complete Dental Unit.
Great difficulty was experienced in obtaining suitable equipment for
the third dental surgery, which was opened on November 19th, 1946.
Two new dental officers were appointed during the year, Mr. C. E. B.
Maytum, L.D.S. (Eng.) who commenced his duties at Church Road
Clinic on August 27th, and Mr. A.Smith, L.D.S., R.F.P.S., (Glas.),
who is working in the new surgery at the Annexe, and is assisting us
in a temporary capacity.
