CASES OP OPHTHALMIA NEONATORUM notified during the year in which:-
(a) Vision was unimpaired 1

(g) classification under the above heads cannot be
made (details of these cases should be attached) -

MATERNITY ACCOMMODATION.
The accommodation for women whose homes are unsuitable for their
confinements, and those who require in-patient treatment on medical
grounds, is East Ham Memorial Hospital, Forest Gate Hospital, Maternity
and District Nurses Home, Plaistow, and Queen Mary's Hospital,
Stratford.
Daring 1943*24 cases were admitted to East Ham Memorial "Hospital,
441 to Forest Gate Hospital and one to Queen Mary's Hospital.
Other mothers were evacuated to Maternity Hospitals outside
London.

INSPECTION OF MIDWIVES
Visits of inspection, as necessary,wore paid during the year,
and the midwives' work, including records, was satisfactory.
CHILD LIFE PROTECTION.
Sections 206 to 220 of the Pub1ic Health Act, 1936.
(a) Number of persons who were receiving children for reward
at the end of the year.19
