TUBERCULOSIS AND CHEST CLINIC.
Notifications.
The number of primary notifications during the year 1942 was
244, as compared with 224 for 1941. Of the primary notifications
of pulmonary tuberculosis , in 37.41 per cent tubercle bacilli were
found in the sputum.
Statistical.
The total number of notified cases on the register of the
Clinic on 31st December, 1942 was 860 (pulmonary and non-pulmonary)
or 9.6 per 1,000 estimated population, as opposed to 809 or 10.9
per 1,000 population in the previous year.

The number of deaths (1938 - 1942) from tuberculosis is shown below:-
