CASES OF OPHTHALMIA NEONATORUM notified during the year in which:-
(a) Vision was unimpaired 1

MATERNITY ACCOMMODATION.
As set out in my 1941 Report, the accommodation for women whoa
homes are unsuitable for their confinements, and those who require
in-patient treatment on medical grounds, is Forest Gate Hospital,
'Laternity and District NJrses Home, Plaistow, and Queen Mary's
Hospital, Stratford.
During 1942 467 cases were admitted to Forest Gate Hospital.
Other mothers were evacuated to Maternity Hospitals outside
London.
INSPECTION OF MIDWIVES.
Visits of inspection, as nocossary were paid during the year,
and the midwives' work, including records, was satisfactory.
CHILD LIFE PROTECT I ON
Sections 202 to 220 of the Public Health Act, 1956*
(a) Number of persons who were recaiving children for reward
at the end of the year. 12
