Deaths.
During the year the number of East Earn Ham civilian residents
dying was 1,296. This figure is equal to a death rate of 16.1
par 1,000 of the Registrar General's estimated population. For
the previous year the rate was 16.2
Infantile Mortality.
The number of deaths of children under one year of age was
43, equal, to an infantile mortality rate of 46 per 1,000 live
births (41 for 1940), the rate for England and Wales being 59
per 1,000 live births.
Neo-Natal Mortality.
Children dying under the age of one month totalled 26
equal to a neo-natal mortality rate of 20.5 per 1,000 live
births. The rate for the previous year was 21.6.
Maternal Mortality.

Maternal deaths numbered 1, the rate for 2.941 being 1.08 per 1,000 live births and 1.04 per 1,000 live and still births.
