The fact that Court Proceedings were avoided in every case
is deserving of special mention, and the Society is to be congratulated
upon the excellent results achieved.
17. BLIND, DEAF, DEFECTIVE AND EPILEPTIC
CHILDREN.
Physically Defective Children.
(See Table III),
Eight children are suffering from physical defects which
prevents them attending public elementary schools.
One hundred and sixty-two children considered physically
defective and 78 children suffering from glandular and noninfectious
pulmonary tuberculosis, are attending ordinary elementary
schools.
Mentally Defective Children.
Of these, 8 were classified as mentally deficient and 31 as dull and backward, recommendations being made as shown in the following table:—
