The number of deaths attributed to cancer in all forms for
the year 1936 is approximately the same as for the year 1935, and
calls for no special comment. It will be seen, however, when fiveyearly
periods are considered, that the rate is slightly above that
for England and Wales. (Table 23.) This is more pronounced
in the case of males than females.
