The Nursery.
The Nursery, which has been in use for the past twelve
months, is still demonstrating its valuable utility. Its first class
position and the excellent arrangements of the wards and appurtenances
have produced the healthy and happy condition of the
children there.
Supply of Medical and Surgical Requisites.
The supply of medical and surgical requisites is adequate and
complete.
Deaths.
Three deaths have occurred during the period under review.
Accommodation.
The Elizabeth Fry Lodge has now been occupied and the
numbers in excess in the other Lodges have been reduced.
Visiting.
I and my Assistant made approximately 280 visits to Aldersbrook
and 102 to the Scattered Homes. 202 children were
thoroughly examined on admission, and 185 on discharge.
Minor operations have been performed when the necessity
arose, and other treatment given when required. The usual
routine inspections have been regularly performed.
Vaccination.
No children have been vaccinated during the past six months.
The Dentist, Mr. Rose, has made the usual visits and inspections
at Aldersbrook and the Scattered Homes, 97 children being
treated for extractions, fillings and scalings.
I desire to record my indebtedness to the Superintendent
and Matron for their unfailing help and assistance when visiting
the Homes.
January, 1935.
As required by Articles 170 (13) and 179 (1) of the Public
Assistance Order, 1930, I submit my half-yearly report for the
half-year ended on the 31st December, 1934.
