with as follows:—

That they have had before them and adopted the reports of
the Medical Officer of Health regarding the operation in the
Borough of the recommendations contained in the Ministry of
Health Circular No. 1167 and Memorandum dated 11th December,
1930, and of the Final Report of the Departmental Committee on
Maternal Mortality and Morbidity dated 1932.
The reports set out the recommendations or opinions of the

Further, the Burges Road branch of the Plaistow Maternity
Hospital provides ante-natal care and a service of midwives
to attend expectant mothers in their own homes.
As recommended in 1931 an additional full time Assistant
Medical Officer has been appointed.
Further development of this service will take place upon
the completion of the proposed Maternity Hospital to which
will be attached an ante-natal clinic.
Subsequently, consideration will be needed of the question
of providing a clinic in the North Woolwich area.
Home Helps.—This service has been inaugurated and at
present there are registered the names and addresses of 19
women available as home helps.
Maternity Accommodation.—That pending the erection
of the Maternity Home, arrangements are under consideration
for the admission of maternity cases into Forest Gate
Sick Home upon the recommendation of the Medical Officer
of Health and for the administration in connection with
maternity cases by the Maternity and Child Welfare SubCommittee
for and on behalf of the Public Assistance
Committee.
