(b) Home Helps. Does not consider them necessary at present.*(b) That the Medical Officer of Health be directed to submit to a subsequent meeting of the Maternity and Child Welfare Sub-Committee a report on the conditions of service and appointment of Home Helps by neighbouring authorities.
(c) Supply of Milk for Mothers.
Provision already made with Maternity and Child Welfare Clinics.
(d) Laboratory Facilities. Specimens forwarded by Medical men or midwives are sent to London Laboratories for examination.
5. Post Natal Clinics. Agreed.
Should be conducted at new Maternity Hospital.
6. Provision for Ophthalmia Neonatorum.
Cases are seen by Ophthalmic Surgeon and, if necessary, are admitted to East Ham Memorial Hospital.
7. Provision for Unmarried Mothers.
Cases are usually admitted to Forest Gate Sick Home or Salvation Army Hostel.That arrangement be continued, pending erection of new Maternity Hospital.

* This Scheme is now in operation.
In Circular 1433 the Minister states that he has recently
reviewed the action which has been taken throughout the country
to give effect to the suggestions in the above Memorandum, and
recognises that on the whole there has been a widespread response.
