REPORT ON WORK AT THE BOROUGH
INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL, 1933.
A description of the reconstructed Hospital was given in the
reports for 1931 and 1932, and it is therefore unnecessary to detail
the many improvements that have been effected.
It will be seen from Table 31 that varied types of cases have
been admitted, and to those familiar with Isolation Hospital administration,
it is apparent that only by the additional provision of
cubicle accommodation has the segregation and treatment of such
patients been possible.
Apart from this consideration, the numerous instances in
which separation for some minor complication, or mild infectious
complaint is necessary, or again when some operative procedure
is indicated, the use of the cubicle ensures more adequate and
effective treatment.
