N.B.—In considering the combined totals (1, 2 and 3), it will
be noticed that 51.8 per cent. of the cases are in the age group
1-5 years, 37.1 per cent in the age group 6-10 years, and 11.1 per
cent. in the group over 10 years.
The Schick test for susceptibility to Diphtheria was performed
during the year in 266 of the completed cases of which 251 proved
negative. In 15 of the cases positive results were obtained.
Enteric Fever.
There were 5 cases notified all of whom were treated in
hospital. There were no deaths.
Erysipelas.
Sixty-nine notifications of this disease were received during
the year, 35 were treated in hospital and 4 died.
Puerperal Fever.
Seven cases were notified, 6 were treated in hospital and 2
died.
Puerperal Pyrexia.
There were 10 cases of this disease notified, 5 of whom
received hospital treatment. No deaths were assigned to this
cause.
