Dental Treatment.
Patients eligible for dental treatment are those who are unable
to derive full benefit from their treatment for tuberculosis owing
to oral sepsis. The Council provide this form of treatment for
uninsured cases except for patients already covered by dental
schemes of other bodies, e.g., school children and tuberculous
pensioners, are excluded from benefit. For insured persons who
are tuberculous, the approved societies make a contribution
towards the cost of dental attention required.
The treatment includes extractions, fillings, and dentures
where necessary.
After-Care Committee.
The After-Care Committee has continued to do excellent work
during the year.
Thirty-three necessitous patients have been provided with
clothing and bedding. The provision of bedding has enabled the
patients concerned to sleep alone, thus acting as a preventive
measure to the healthy members of the family.
Repairs were carried out to a patient's artificial limb, and
two patients (husband and wife) were removed into the country.
To raise funds a Flag Day, which realised £16 16s. Id.,
was held in September; a Dramatic Performance kindly given
by the Trevelyan Dramatic Club made £2 3s. 5d., and a Dance
held in the Winter Hall in December showed a profit of
£9 15s. lid.

through the help of the After-Care Committee " A handicraft
class " of selected patients, with a voluntary or even paid worker,
may meet weekly or even fortnightly at the Clinic.
The psychological effect, resulting from the ability of some
of these patients to become even partially self supporting or useful,
is incalculable.
Adequate Housing Accommodation for Tuberculous
Subjects.
The difficult situation of many tuberculous subjects attending
