REPORT OF THE CHIEF SANITARY INSPECTOR
ON THE WORK PERFORMED BY THE SANITARY
INSPECTORS FOR THE YEAR 1932.
To the Medical Officer of Health.
Sir,
In accordance with the Ministry of Health Regulations I beg
to report on the sanitary work carried out by the Sanitary
Inspectors during the year 19.32.
The Staff of the Sanitary Section consists of one Assistant
Sanitary Inspector, five district Inspectors, and myself. There are
also one Disinfector and one Mortuary Attendant wholly engaged,
and two men, as required, from the Engineer's department for
drain clearing.
I have again to report that with the exception of 188 new
houses built there has been no material alteration in the sanitary
circumstances of the Borough, most of the notes, therefore, are a
reprint from the previous report.
The tables are corrected to date, and form a summary of the
monthly reports submitted to the Public Health Committee.
As this is the last occasion upon which I shall have the honour
of presenting the report on the work of the Sanitary Section of
the Public Health Department to you as Medical Officer of Health
of this Borough, which position you have held for upwards of
twenty-four years, it is my pleasing privilege on behalf of the
Sanitary Staff and myself to place on record our sincere appreciation
of the unfailing courtesy and consideration we have at all
times received at your hands.
We wish you many years of healthy and happy life in which
to enjoy your retirement from the Public Service.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient servant,
GEORGE D. LILL.
