Complications met with and treated.
(a) Those directly due to tuberculosis—
Pleural effusions 2, laryngitis 7 (of these 4 died),
rectal fistula 3 (1 died), tubercular sinus 2, and intestinal
tuberculosis 2.
(b) Not directly due to tuberculosis—
Pyorrhoea 8, eczema 3, rheumatism 2, hyperthyroidism
1, diabetes 1, neurasthenia 2, varicose
ulcer 1, subacute combined degeneration of the spinal
cord with aneurysm of the aorta 1, haemorrhoids 1.
Eight patients suffered from dental caries and were allowed
leave to have the necessary treatment from their own dentists.
The usual concert parties, players, etc. who have so kindly
given entertainments in previous years, again arranged performances
in the winter months and these were very much enjoyed both
by patients and staff.
