Maternal Mortality Rates, 1914-1930.
Institutional Provision for Unmarried Mothers, Illegitimate
Infants and Homeless Children.
The Council have no institution for unmarried mothers and
their illegitimate children. Whipps Cross Hospital and Salvation
Army Hostels accommodate some of these cases.
With regard to homeless children these are sent to Aldersbrook
Homes.
Ambulance Facilities.
(la) For Infectious Diseases.—Two motor ambulances are
garaged at the Isolation Hospital.
(b) For Non-infectious Diseases and Accident Cases—two
motor ambulances, operating from the Fire Station, carried out
the following work during 1930:—
