Professional Nursing in the Home.
(a) General.—Excellent work is carried out by the Nurses
attached to the Branch Home in Katherine Road of the Plaistow
Maternity Hospital to which the Local Authority make no grant.
(b) For Infectious diseases, e.g., Measles, or treatment of
Scarlet Fever, no provision is made.
Midwives.
No Midwives are subsidised by the Authority, but a large
amount of Midwifery work is undertaken by Nurses of the
Plaistow Maternity Hospital, in addition to those midwives who
have a private practice in the Borough. In the North Woolwich
area the midwives attached to Sir Henry Tate's Home carry out
such work.
