(a) Uncleanliness.
The School Nurses have carried out 3 cleanliness surveys
of all the children in the elementary schools during the year 1929.
During the year the School Nurses made 53,009 examinations,
as compared with 55,351 in 1928. Of this number 426
children showed vermin and many nits in the hair (387 in 1928),
whilst 1,866 children showed only a few nits (2,020 in 1928).
