A review of the year's work of the Isolation Hospital shows a
total of 877 patients admitted for treatment, as compared with 977
for the previous twelve months. Of this number, 557 were suffering
from diphtheria and 314 from scarlet fever. The admissions
for the year 1928 were 445 and 532 respectively. It will thus be
seen that a larger number of patients suffering from the more
serious illness-diphtheria-were admitted to the Institution.
