(a) Uncleanliness.
The School Nurses have carried out 3 cleanliness surveys
of all the children in the elementary schools during the year.
During the year the School Nurses made 55,351 examinations,
as compared with 58,588 in 1927. Of this number 387
children showed vermin and many nits in the hair (479 in 1927),
whilst 2,020 children showed only a few nits (2,110 in 1927).
