5. FINDINGS OF MEDICAL INSPECTIONS.
The percentage of children found to require treatment, as the result of Routine Medical Inspection in the Code Groups, shows a slight increase over that for the year 1925.

(a) Uncleanliness.
The School Nurses have carried out 3 cleanliness surveys
of all the children in the elementary schools during the year.
During the year the School Nurses made 58,683 examinations,
as compared with 58,090 in 1925. Of this number 19
children were found who harboured body vermin (23 in 1925),
668 children showed vermin and many nits -in the hair (652 in
1925), whilst 2,527 children showed only a few nits (2,856 in 1925).
