35
Patients discharged, 155.
Average duration of stay, 19 weeks 2 days.
Number of patient days, 18,452.
Number of beds available, 51.
Average number of beds occupied, 50.55.
Number of patients admitted during the year was the same
as in the previous year. The number of advanced cases has decreased
; the results of treatment have therefore improved. Another
welcome feature is the prolongation of the duration of stay; this
is still below the desirable period.
Artificial pneumothorax is still regularly performed in suitable
cases, the results being very beneficial.
The arrangement with the Forest Hospital Authorities, Buckhurst
Hill, for X-raying patients still works smoothly and much
assistance has been derived from the radiographs obtained therefrom.
The patients fully appreciate the efforts of the Dramatic Clubs
and Concert Parties, also the very instructive lectures given from
time to time.
