Council supply the bins, which are of excellent design and
quality. They are made from a carefully prepared specification,
purchased in large quantities by contract, and supplied at a low
charge. Owners of property are well advised to purchase through
the medium of the Council.
Schools.
The public elementary and private schools have been
systematically inspected, special attention being given to the
drains, gullies, latrines, urinals, etc. In the public schools the
gullies and drains are flushed regularly by the Council's drain
flushers. The caretakers are responsible for the cleansing of the
latrines and urinals. The work is done satisfactorily.

1. Dwelling houses.
Inspection—(1) Dwelling houses inspected for
housing defects (under Public Health or
Housing Acts) 5,533
(2) Dwelling houses found to be in a state so
dangerous or injurious to health as to be unfit
for human habitation Nil.
(3) Dwelling houses (exclusive of those referred to
under the preceding sub-heading) found not to
be in all respects reasonably fit for human
habitation 14
