Plough Road.
On 16th November, 1897, the Vestry Resolved—
(1) That a large Lame be fixed at the junction of Yeoman Street and the new approach
load, Plough Bridge, and that the existing lamp on the south side of Plough Road at the
junction of that road and Yeoman Street, be removed to the opposite side of the road.
(2) That the existing lamp at the junction of William Street and Plough Road be
removed to the opposite corner, and that an additional one be fixed on the south side of
Plough Road, in a convenient position, situate about midway between the above-mentioned
lamp and the existing lamp on the north side.
Suffolk Street and Old Road.
On 18th May, 1897, the Yestry Resolved, upon the recommendation of the General
Purposes and Works Committee— That the Surveyor be instructed to alter the position of
the existing lamp at the junction of Suffolk Street and Old Road, about three feet north to
the site of the present iron guard-post, and refix the post in the position vacated by the lamp.
Testing Station.
Nothing has yet been done by the Gas Referees in connection with the provision of a
gas testing station near the works of the South Metropolitan Gas Co. as suggested some
long time since.
Local Government Act, 1894.
Election of Vestrymen and Auditors.
On 20th April, 1897, the Vestry appointed Thursday, the 27th May, 1897, as the day
for taking the poll for the election of vestrymen and Auditors.
The Election for Vestrymen took place on that date with the following result

Rotherhithe Jubilee Almshouses Fund, having been received too late to utilise for the purpose of the Dinner fund.
