The Council's Inspector gave evidence that the
man had washed the dirty bottles collected from the
customers in a horse trough in Goldhawk Road, and
then filled them with milk, sealed them and delivered
them to Messrs. Welford's customers.
The bench imposed the maximum penalty of £5,
with £2 2s. costs on the man, and also fined Messrs.
Welford £5, being of opinion that there had been a lack
of proper supervision on the part of the firm.
Unsound Food.—Proceedings were taken against
Messrs. Dangerfield, King Street, in respect of some
beef which was seized by your Inspectors as being
unsound and unfit for food. The case was dismissed
without costs as the magistrate was not convinced that
the meat was exposed for sale.
