DIPHTHERIA.
Incidence.
68 notifications were received during the year of cases occurring
amongst the civilian population. Of these though, 15 were cases of
tonsillitis and in 13 other instances the patient was suffering from some
condition other than diphtheria, leaving a corrected figure of 40, this
being a rate per thousand population of — (the figures for the years
1934 to 1942 were 0.6, 0.58, 0.22, 0.54, 0.28, 0.41, 0.20 and 0.26).
