In March the Council authorised the Housing Committee to
proceed with the erection of 16 one-bedroomed flats for the aged
on 0.76 acres of land forming part of the disused Little Stanmore
Sewage Farm. In June authority was given for the Committee to
proceed with the development of the first half of the proposals
for the erection of 488 houses on land comprised in the Harrow
Urban (Rayners Lane) Housing Confirmation Order, 1935, entailing
the erection of 276 houses comprising 17 four-bedroomed; 31
large three-bedroomed; 113 small three-bedroomed; 14 angle
three-bedroomed and 53 two-bedroomed houses, and 48 onebedroomed
maisonnettes. At the same meeting authority was
given to the Committee to proceed with the scheme for the
erection of eight bungalows for aged persons on land adjacent to
George V Avenue.
