statistics of mortality at these important institutions. The
deaths in 1892, including a few of non-parishioners, were
433, compared with 328, 394, and 523, in the three previous
years, and were equal to 15 per-cent. on total deaths. The
quarterly numbers were 159, 108, 88 and 78: 267 in the first
half of the year therefore, and only 166 in the latter half.
The deaths included 205 of males and 228 of females. The
ages at death were: under one year, 77 (against 27,45 and 71
in the preceding three years respectively): between one and
sixty, 199 (against 147, 179, and 214 in the preceding three
years), and at sixty and upwards, 157 (against 153, 170 and
238 in the preceding three years).
