DEATHS IN PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS.
The only "public institutions " in the parish are the Hospital
for Consumption and Diseases of the Chest, situated at Brompton,
and the parish Infirmary in Wright's Lane. In the former institution
00 deaths took place (males 47 and females 43). Of the
deceased only 5 (males 3 and females 2) were parishioners. The
Parish Infirmary being situated in the Town district, all the deaths
are registered in that district, to which, doubtless, a, very large
proportion of them properly belong. The deaths in this large and
important hospital were 174, viz., males 91 and females 83; and the
ages at which they occurred were as subjoined :—

INQUESTS.
One hundred and thirty-six inquests were held during the year,
viz. 116 in the Town district and 20 in the Brompton district.
The deaths occurred at ages as subjoined:—
