OUTWORKERS
The last return submitted by employers of outworkers gave the number
of persons living in the Borough who were engaged on outwork as 136.
An additional 32 persons living outside the Borough were engaged on outwork
by firms situated in the Borough.
The houses of the outworkers are periodically visited to ensure that
the standard of cleanliness and working conditions are satisfactory.
