Excellent co-operation continues to exist between the
various brewery companies and Officers of the Department,
and this has resulted in the maintenance of a high standard
of hygiene in both premises and equipment..
FOOD SAMPLING, 1959
During the year ended 31st December, 1959, 844 samples
of food and drugs (being 675 informal and 169 formal samples)
were submitted for analysis to the Public Analyst. Of
these 35 informal samples and two formal samples were
reported to be adulterated or otherwise not complying with
the statutory requirements, giving a percentage of 4.3
compared with 3.2 in 1958. No private samples were
examined during the year.
