Unsound Food.
During 1950, 33,623 articles of food, weighing approximately 142 tons, were
surrendered as unfit for human consumption. The majority of these articles were
from the one large abattoir in the Borough.
Most of the food was utilised for animal feeding or for fertilisers.
Sausage Rolls.
Following a complaint from an Eltham resident that he purchased five sausage
rolls which were unfit for human consumption, the consignment in question was
seized and condemned.
