Re-Housing of Old People.—It was decided by the Council in 1935 that
where aged or infirm persons were re-housed from clearance areas the women
sanitary inspectors should pay periodic visits to all such cases, in order to promote
their general welfare and prevent the development of insanitary conditions. This
practice was continued during the year with satisfactory results.
New Houses.—The following Table No. 33 shows the number of certificates
of a proper and sufficient supply of water for new houses granted by the Health
Committee at each of their meetings. Of these 166 were in respect of houses built
by the Council.
