In dealing with the progress made in the use of heav\ naphtha referred
chemical and other laboratory work carried out. For their help in this respect
Council are much indebted to Mr. S. Ashmore of the Government Laboratory
Mr. A. W. McKenny Hughes of the British Museum (Natural History) and it is with
the greatest possible pleasure that I acknowledge the indebtedness of the Council
and my own, to them. To Mr. Ashmore for his help and counsel in the matter of the
elimination of cyanide from goods and houses disinfested in this way I owe much also.
Factory and Workshop Act.—The following Table is in the form adopted by
the Secretary of State to provide for uniformity throughout the country in
presentation of certain particulars of this work which lend themselves to statistical
treatment.
