Puerperal Fever and Puerperal Pyrexia.
Twenty-eight cases were notified compared with 45 in 1935 and 35 in 1934. In
23 instances notification was in respect of puerperal pyrexia, but in at least three
of these, notification should have been puerperal fever. In one instance the disease
was a sequel to abortion. All except one case received hospital treatment.
Deaths.—There were two deaths from puerperal fever compared with one in
1935 and two in 1934.
Enteric Fever.
Twelve cases were notified, eleven of whom were treated in hospital. There
was one death. The following Table No. 47 gives details of each case notified.

Erysipelas, Malaria and Dysentery.
The number of notifications of Erysipelas received was 68, compared with 78
in 1935. Four cases of Dysentery were notified. There were two notifications of
Malaria (induced for therapeutic purposes).
Anterior Poliomyelitis.
Only one notification was received during the year compared with two in the
previous year. The patient was admitted to the special ward reserved for such
cases by the London County Council at the Western Hospital.
