Cases of Tuberculosis in the District.—The usual steps were taken during the
year to ensure that the Tuberculosis register correctly represented the number of
cases of Tuberculosis in the district, and the following Table No. 52, shows the
changes which have taken place during the year.

Of the total number on the register on the 31st December, 91.75 per cent. were
on the dispensary register, i.e., had been dealt with in connection with the Public
Health scheme for the treatment of tuberculosis. In 1933 the corresponding percentage
was 86.66 and in 1932, 92.91.
Deaths.—The following Table No. 53, shows the number of deaths and the
death rates each year since 1930.
