be found in the Maternity and Child Welfare Section.
viii. Maternal Mortality.
In accordance with the terms of the Ministry of Health Circular 888, confidential
enquiries are made by the Council's medical officers into every maternal death and
reports are furnished to the Ministry of Health.
The services of a Consultant Surgeon are now available for cases of obstetric
emergencies and difficulties occurring at home, and for consultation and treatment
in cases of puerperal fever or puerperal pyrexia.
Arrangements have also been made for the home nursing of such cases and for
such bacteriological investigations as are necessary.
ix. Vaccination.
I submit a return by the Vaccination Officer on the work carried out under the
Vaccination Acts for the year 1932.
