Population.
The Registrar-General estimates the population of the Borough at the middle
of the year as 146,200, a decrease of 700 on last year. This figure includes noncivilians
in accordance with a decision of the Registrar-General to return to pre-war
practice in this respect as from the 1st January, 1932. In comparing the vital
statistics of the old parish (including individual wards) of Woolwich with those of
previous years, regard should be had to this fact. The estimated population in
each of the wards of the Borough at the middle of 1933 is shown in the following
Table.
