Cerebrospinal Meningitis.
Twelve cases were notified during the year but in two instances the diagnosis
was not confirmed. The following Table gives details of each case:—

Anterior Poliomyelitis.
Six notifications were received and in all the cases the diagnosis was confirmed.
Nursing assistance is provided for such cases but was not utilised during the year.
Five of the cases were admitted to hospital.
Zymotic Enteritis.
Three cases of this disease were notified during the year, compared with 22
cases in 1930. The number of deaths in children under two years of age, certified
as due to diarrhoeal diseases was six.
Whooping Cough.
During the year 492 cases of Whooping Cough came to the knowledge of the
Department from the School Medical Service, compared with 73 last year and 327
in 1929. As this disease is not notifiable in the Borough, knowledge can only be
obtained of cases from this source. Nursing assistance is provided for this disease
but was not utilised during the year.
Deaths. No death was certified as due to this disease, compared with 1 in
the previous year.
Measles.
This disease is not notifiable in the Borough, but from various sources the
Department learned of 113 cases, compared with 2,702 in 1930 and 151 in 1929,
