The number of whole carcases condemned on account of disease or injury was
19 (11 pigs, 5 sheep and 3 cattle). In 843 instances partial condemnation was
necessary in respect of 588 pigs, 117 sheep and 138 cattle. All shops and stalls
where meat is sold are regularly inspected, and, if any insanitary conditions are
discovered, measures are taken to secure their abatement.
Slaughterhouses.—There is no public slaughterhouse in the Borough. Slaughterhouses
are subject to annual licence from the London County Council, and, in the
Table which follows, are shown those licensed at the end of the year. The licence
in respect of 30, Hare Street was not renewed :—
