The quadrangle, which is paved with crazy paving, and contains two sand-pits,
will be used as a playground for children coming with their mothers. The corridor,
which runs round the quadrangle, gives access to all the rooms, and is provided
with wood and glass folding partitions to enable it to be entirely closed in bad
weather."
The Quadrangle—Eltham Health Centre.
(d) Artificial Sunlight Clinic.—This clinic was opened in October, 1927. The
total number of patients treated during the year, including 79 whose course of
treatment was not completed at the end of 1929, was 377. The total number of
treatments given was 9,328. Of these, 5,237 were by carbon arc, 2,446 by mercury
vapour lamp, and 1,645 by radiant heat lamp.
The clinic is under the medical supervision of Dr. J. E. A. Lynham, who has
furnished the following report on the year's work.
"A review of the figures in relation to the Sunlight Clinic leads to the
conclusion that this Department is rendering useful service. The total number
of patients in attendance has decreased, this being due chiefly to the opening
of other centres.
