take proceedings against the dairyman he may summons
the roundsman if he alleges he is actually the offender. In
only one instance did a dairyman issue a summons against
the roundsman, and in this instance the Magistrate convicted
the employer and dismissed the summons against the
employee. Twelve summonses in all were taken out by the
Council in respect of this offence, and in all instances (except
one where the summons was dismissed under the Probation
of Offenders Act on payment of costs) convictions were
recorded.
The Milk (Special Designations) Order, 1923. This Order
authorises the Council to grant licences for the sale of designated
milks, which may be sold under any one of the following
descriptions :—Certified ; Grade " A " (Tuberculin Tested) ;
Grade "A," and Pasteurised. The licences have to be
renewed annually and all expire on the 31st December each
year. Thirty-seven applications were received for Dealers'
and eight for Supplementary licences, all of which were
granted. The total amount received in fees was £10 Is. Od.
In some instances owing to changes in ownership
the licences appear duplicated in the following Table No. 36,
which gives details of each licence issued.
