The Tuberculosis Officer is always glad to consult with
practitioners regarding their patients, either in the patient's
home or at the Dispensary.
The total number of attendances at the Dispensary
during 1929 was 4,996. In this connection it is interesting
to point out that 250 of the persons notified during 1929
attended the Dispensary, which is equivalent to 82.78 per
cent. The corresponding percentage in 1928 was 7354.
A return of the work done in connection with the Dispensary
is given in Table No. 73.
Staff. The staff of the Dispensary consists of one whole
time Tuberculosis Officer, one half time Assistant Tuberculosis
Officer, three Tuberculosis Health Visitors, one ClerkDispenser
and one Lay Organiser, who also acts as
Secretary of the Care Committee.
Post-Graduate Course. In accordance with the practice
in recent years, one Tuberculosis Visitor attended a refresher
course of two weeks during the winter.
